Kennys Vargas, former Beloit Snappers first baseman and one of the Minnesota Twins Top Prospects, signed this OML Allan H. Selig baseball with a blue ballpoint pen.  He signed this baseball on Monday August 13, 2012.  During the 2012 season, Kennys played in 41 games and pounded out 49 hits (including 10 doubles, 1 triple and 11 HR's) in 154 at bats for a .318 batting average.  Kennys also had 28 walks, drove in 36 runs and scored 22 runs.  On July 31, 2014, Kennys was called up to the Minnesota Twins from the AA New Britain Rock Cats.  He made his Major League Debut on Friday August 1, 2014 against the Chicago White Sox.

Kennys Vargas (born August 1, 1990) is a Puerto Rican professional baseball first baseman for the Minnesota Twins.

Career

Vargas made his professional debut in 2009 with the Gulf Coast Twins. He also played for the Gulf Coast Twins in 2010. Vargas played the 2011 season with the Elizabethton Twins. He was hitting .322/.377/.489 with six home runs over 44 games, when he was suspended 50 games for a violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.[1] After his suspension was over in 2012 he played for the Beloit Snappers. In 41 games he had 11 home runs and a 1.030 on-base plus slugging (OPS). Vargas played for the Fort Myers Miracle in 2013.[2] In 125 games he hit 19 home runs. He was added to the Twins 40-man roster on November 20, 2013.[3] Vargas started the 2014 season with the Double-A New Britain Rock Cats.[4] In July he played in the All-Star Futures Game.[5][6]

Vargas has compared to David Ortiz due to there similarities in size.[7][8][9]
